Why didn't/don't I like bio? I feel biology is far too random, dissimilar to the way physics always starts from first principles (a overarching main point that is immovable by virtue of the fact that it's just self-explanatory or because it has been determined to be so). From first principles, you can basically guess what's going on by deducing here and there. When you get lost or lose the plot, you can always go back to the main idea and work your way back.

Biology is of course not void of first principles, but there are far too many things going on for people to practically learn biology from first principles the way physics is learnt from first principles. It's tempting to just memorise chunks of stuff up (I did that in sec sch, it wasn't too fun) due to lack of time.

I do still really dislike biology, but I think I'm rediscovering that it may not be so bad after all. Just need to give it time >.< After all, bio at the most fundamental is probably chemistry... chemistry at the most fundamental is probably physics... (and math, below that, lol)

What's so bad about physics anyway? It's kinda fun, and all you have to do is remember relationships between things, then plug in numbers and interpret what's going on.

I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous, but the temperature dropped to 7 degrees overnight, and I can hardly remove my fingers from my blanket (despite the thick jacket I'm wearing...), and THUS I do not feel like studying. My room STILL feels like it's freezing over despite me closing the windows...

Since when has being cold ever been a good reason not to study or do homework...

My mind is ... bursting at the moment. I know I expected this, but let me complain anyway. This is many many times worse than JC... everyday is a mugfest lol. And unfortunately I spent about 1.5 hours googling how to make xiaolongbao (non-pork version of course) and other such random matters. So. Um. And thinking about Monday inspires both excitement and trepidation... the latter because I have a chinese test coming up.

*groan*

so what? a test? never sat for one before? (well, not a chinese one)

Well I'm struggling to remember what I mugged a few hours ago lol. And that pisses me off. And I'm sleepy. But if I sleep now I will for sure miss Subuh so... So evidently grogginess and being mildly pissed off is not a terribly good combination. And guess what, I'm hungry again... I want to try xiaolongbao damnit...

I find it very funny. When I first came, I was hoping (real hard) that I would have at least one Muslim friend around campus, so I wouldn't lose myself.

But as it turns out, Muslims seem to form the majority of the foreigners here. In fact, my entire chinese class is Muslim... and everyone except for like 3 people (including me) are Arabs... I should take the opportunity to learn some Arabic lol. My class is like in Arabic channel nowadays; when the teacher's not talking in Mandarin, they're jabbering away in Arabic (yes, channel 5 doesn't seem to exist that much...). Sometimes I feel like I'm not in China, haha.

But anyway, school is a whirlwind of madness. But being back at school is good. (: I can even play badminton again xD
